Back2Basics is a Sydney based personalised and individual 1-on-1 K9 obedience or training service. No two dogs are the same nor are your concerns, so do not expect a set protocol or a pile of paperwork with us! We understand that curbing old habits is difficult, so your trainer will be available via phone after your session(s) should you need extra pointers, tips or support.
We can travel to you or meet at a mutual location such as a park, if it is outside our travel range. You can always call us to organise!
James (Senior Dog Trainer)
With over 20 years of experience in dog handling, obedience work, managing busy kennels and breeding dogs, James can truly claim to have seen enough precarious scenarios and rehabilitated plenty of misbehaved dogs. James was one of the few to be trained under Christopher Borg from the late '80s from Animal Agencies in SW Sydney when it was a thriving dog boarding facility that also offered handling, protection and security training. Accreditation in dog handling (security & protection services) has allowed James with the mindset of a disruptive and misbehaved dog as an untrained or under stimulated one. He quotes: "I vowed since to not rehome a dog, when I was faced with that predicament early on because my dogs lacked proper training."
Charlie (Residential Mascot)
... or Charles plus a few other nicknames as appropriate. Having been born on Christmas Eve, he is a reminder that dogs do not follow our Gregorian calendar for when things should occur! You may catch sight of him, should he be involved in a session, or he may involved in reviewing any photos or videos sent through (he's tech savvy!)
