Our sessions & fees

Have you checked out our session offerings page and wanting a bit more information?  You've come to the right place! We understand that your dog and you have different needs, so our lessons are tailoured for you and as questions arise.

We do assume that your dog or pup meet these criterias when working with us:

Sufficient Vaccinations

Flea, Tick &/or Worm treated

Fit or healthy for training

What else to bring?

  1. Comfortable clothing & footwear
  2. Good fitting dog collar or harness
  3. Long lead (ie. 5 meters minimum) for recall & off-lead focus
  4. Water & sunscreen as appropriate
  5. Treats are optional but bonus
  6. Positivity to learn & for the change!

Can we do group training?

Or more than 1 dog per session? This may be 2 dogs within the same household or if your relatives/friends have acquired puppies at similar times. The answer is yes, if pre-arranged with our trainer and that it won't take away from the lesson.

A group fee or surcharge applies as sessions will generally run for longer and that we'll still incorporate 1-on-1 time amongst group focused training and exercises.

Fundamentals of our lessons

Back2Basics- K9 Obedience practice ethical, balanced approach known as "leadership" training. We are confident with this style of training as we are working with your dog and his/her core fundamentals to seek benefits and reassurance.

We start by assessing your human-animal bond and key notes of your dog's behaviour. After all, you need to be aware of your dog's inherent behaviour before we can show you how to train your dog or rehabilitate misbehaviours.

We always end on a positive note or relaxed manner and keep sessions to a reasonable timeframe to not overstep on your dog's ability to adapt and learn. To learn is exhaustive! It is not unusual that your K9 friend may be tired after. Please refer to our other page for more info!

Structure of Fees

To offer you flexibility, hands-on practice and compability of service, B2B - K9 Obedience does not "lock" you into packages and run per session only.

More non-routine services such as security dog handler lesson, basic agility or behavioural support incur a different assessment/training fee than our standard $80/hour/session.

Did you know that we also offer pre-purchase support? Our dog companions are a long-term commitment and we welcome an excellent pre-start and foundation. Our trainer is ready to make a house call to assess your intended arrangements, expectations and general lifestyle to help narrow down your list or offer suggestions.
